Ayurveda says that each season brings with it a unique combination of the doshas in our environment. The doshas are responsible for the external effects we recognize as characteristic to a season such as temperature (hot/cold), moisture (dry/rainy), air (humid/windy), etc. Each season is dominated by either Vata dosha, Pitta dosha or Kapha dosha.
These seasonal changes not only affect our external environment, but also affect us internally and individually, as we exist as a part of the whole. Yoga asana is one powerful way to ensure our personal doshas don’t become imbalanced by the seasonal changes and to bring about whole-being wellness in an intentional way according to the seasons and your unique constitution.
